Error Indicator
When an error occurs, the ERROR lamp (red) blinks on and the buzzer sounds.
(If the error is hardware-related, the ERROR lamp turns on.)
In SR-1800 mode, the computer can obtain the following error status information from the device
by sending the command.
In SR-600 mode, the following status information system will differ. Refer to the SR-600 Operating
Manual.

Cause
The top cover is open
There are no sheets in the
hopper.
2 or more sheets were fed at a
time.
The sheet that was fed is
skewed.
Error due to a sheet jam.
There is a sheet left inside the
device.
After the sheet was fed, it was
pulled out.
The number of timing marks
read was 3 or less.
When reading under the control-
type setting, the next timing mark
was detected within the range set
for reading.
When dirt or sheet folds are
detected in the timing mark area.
There is white dirt stuck to the
reading unit.
There is a gap between the
sheet guide and sheet.
The
sent
command,
parameter,
or
timing is incorrect.
The setting is for using the
back side reader unit, but the
rear side reader unit is not
connected. (Device of single-
sided specification)
Close the top cover securely.
Insert sheets.
Reset the sheets after loosing
them.
Check the position of the
sheet guide, and set the sheet
correctly. Reference: "Setting
Sheets" (P.29)
Remove the jammed sheet.
Reference:
Jams" (P.37)
Reset the sheet.
The number of timing marks is
3 or less, or the timing marks
cannot be detected. Check the
sheet's timing marks.
Check that the reading format
settings and the sheet content
are set correctly.
Clean and fix the sheet folds,
then reset the sheet.
Check the reading unit and
wipe off any dirt.
Check the position of the
sheet guide, and set the sheet
correctly. Reference: "Setting
Sheets" (P.29)

Check whether or not the sent
transmission
command, sent parameter, or
transmission timing is correct.
Check that the USB cable is
properly connected.
Turn the back side reader
setting to OFF. Reference:
"3 DIP Switch SW1 Settings"
