Reading Sheets
This section explains the procedure for reading sheets.
(If you perform the checksheet reading test, please refer to "Checksheet Reading Test" (P.32))
(1) Turn the power switch on.
The power turns on and the self-check begins. The READY lamp (green) and the ERROR
lamp (red) both light up. When the self-check is completed normally, the buzzer sounds
"Pip!" and the ERROR lamp turns off.
(2) Set the sheets in the hopper.
Align the sheets so that the timing mark is on the left side viewing from the feed direction.
(3) Press the
switch, or send a command from the computer to read the sheet.

One sheet will be fed to device.
If the
switch is held down, the sheet will be fed continuously to the device.

If you want to obtain mark data of the sheet that was fed, send the "Get Mark Density"
command. (Reference: For details on commands, please refer to the "Command Reference
Manual.")
(4) When finished, turn the power off.
When an error occurs:
The buzzer sounds and the ERROR lamp (red) turns on or blinks. (Reference: "Troubleshooting"
(P.34))
When the
switch is pressed, the ERROR lamp turns off.
CLEAR
Checksheet Reading Test
The included checksheets (with printed data marks) can be used to test the device's reading
function.
CAUTION
Perform this test before starting work and when a reading error occurs.
(1) Turn the power on while pressing the
