CHECKING THE CARBURETORS

The following procedure applies to all of the car-

• carburetor body

• float chamber

• jet housing

Cracks/damage

• fuel passages

a. Wash the carburetor in a petroleumbased sol-

vent. Do not use any caustic-carburetor-

cleaning solution.

b. Blow out all of the passages and jets with

compressed air.

• float chamber body

• float chamber rubber gasket

Cracks/damage/wear

• needle valve 1

• needle valve seat 2

Damage/obstruction/wear

needle valve, needle valve seat and O-ring

• piston valve 1

Damage/scratches/wear

• rubber diaphragm 2

Cracks/tears
