Preface

This guide provides the required information to install Extreme Networks
switches. This guide also contains information about site preparation, switch functionality, and switch
operation.
See the ExtremeXOS Concepts Guide and the ExtremeXOS Command Reference Guide for information about
configuring Extreme Networks BlackDiamond 8800 series switches.
NOTE
If the information in an installation note or release note shipped with your Extreme Networks switch differs
from the information in this guide, follow the installation note or release note.
