A Vitesse* VSC055* provides a serial EEPROM memory for storage of
configuration and product FRU information.
Support for separate drive status LEDs that are visible at the front of each drive
carrier. These LED's indicate the following:
Green LED –
ON, Activity.

Amber LED –
ON, drive fault.

A piezo-electric buzzer on the backplane provides an audible alarm (disabled on
the Intel® Storage System SSR212CC).
