Hot Plug Support

Hot Plug insertion and removal are supported in the presence of a proper connector
and appropriate operating system (OS) support as described in the SATA 2.6
specification. This product supports Asynchronous Signal Recovery and will issue an
unsolicited COMINIT when first mated with a powered connector to guarantee reliable
detection by a host system without hardware device detection.

ATA Commands

The Intel X18-M/X25-M SATA SSDs support all the mandatory ATA commands defined
in the ATA/ATAPI-7 specification.
6.1.1

ATA General Feature Command Set

The Intel X18-M/X25-M SATA SSDs support the ATA General Feature command set
(non-PACKET), which consists of
• EXECUTE DEVICE DIAGNOSTIC
• FLUSH CACHE
• IDENTIFY DEVICE
• READ DMA
• READ SECTOR(S)
• READ VERIFY SECTOR(S)
• SEEK
• SET FEATURES
• WRITE DMA
• WRITE SECTOR(S)
• READ MULTIPLE
• SET MULTIPLE MODE
• WRITE MULTIPLE
The Intel X18-M/X25-M SATA SSDs also support the following optional commands:
• READ BUFFFER
• WRITE BUFFER
• NOP
• DOWNLOAD MICROCODE
