The LSZ-850 Lightning Sensor System consists of the following components:
. LP-850 Lightning Sensor Processor
AT-850/855 Antenna
. LU-860 Lightning Sensor Controller
The lightning sensor system detects lightning activity in the region
around the aircraft within 100 NM and determines the range and bearing of
each lightning discharge. A symbol plan display is generated with
special symbols as shown in Figure 2.1 and these symbols are displayed in
conjunction with weather radar displays on the ND.
The LU-860 Li~htnina Sensor Controller contains the switch used for the

selection of ~he modes of operation.
