(e) Distance Display Failures - Failure of either the DME or FMS
distance signals is indicated by replacing the digital distance
value with amber dashes (Figure 220).
(f) Vertical Navigation Scale - A failure of the source driving the
vertical navigation scale is shown by removing the deviation
pointer and displaying a red "X" through the deviation dots as
shown in Figure 220.
(g) DADC Failures, Weather Radar Failures - The same indications
are given as previously described in the MAP mode (paragraph
2.D.(3)(c)).
(h) Previewed NAV Source Failure - A failure of the previewed NAV
source
is
shown in the same manner as the active NAV source
failure previously discussed. A red, dashed "X" is displayed
through the deviation scale to preserve the ghosted image of
the preview symbology.
(i) EFIS Self-Test - This test is initiated through the on-side
display controller TEST mode when airspeed is valid and less
than 60 knots and the WOW switch is active. Selecting the EFIS
self-test shows the invalid flags for the following compass
display parameters:
