    As with any PC, you should make a regular habit of backing up the information from your hard disk drive onto external media. Furthermore, if your HP OmniBook Sojourn should require service, all the information on your hard drive will be lost because computer repair involves a computer exchange.

However, at certain times, you may want to use other methods for starting and stopping your OmniBook—depending on power considerations, types of active connections, and start-up time.

However, to save significant power and extend battery life, it is best to stop the OmniBook by shutting it down (Start menu, Shut Down).
