To install an operating system

You provide the software to install an alternate operating system. The Recovery CD
provides the OmniBook-specific drivers to configure your custom system. The
drivers for Windows 95 are located
• On the Recovery CD under \OmniBook\Drivers.
• On the OmniBook hard drive under C:\ OmniBook\Drivers.
• On the OmniBook website at http://www.hp.com/omnibook. This website
contains the latest updates of software drivers.
Different versions of an operating system require different drivers, so make sure to
select the appropriate driver.
Before you start, gather the equipment you'll need—the OmniBook, its ac adapter,
the expansion slice, and the Recovery CD.
1. Connect the multimedia slice to the OmniBook (see page 4-4 for instructions).
2. Connect the ac adapter to the OmniBook.
3. Install the operating system.
4. Install the OmniBook-specific drivers according to the instructions in the
README files that accompany the drivers.
