Starting and Stopping the OmniBook

To select options for stopping the OmniBook

You can stop the OmniBook several ways, as shown below. Some methods allow
you to continue your work where you left off. Others reboot the computer. These
power modes are described below.
To stop in this mode...
Standby
Suspend
Save to Disk
Off

Do this...
Allow the time-out to expire without activity.
Press the "Suspend to RAM" icon on the PowerPanel
toolbar.
Note: The power button as well as Start menu,
Suspend can be redefined as Suspend-to-RAM.
(Default meaning is Save-to-Disk).See page 2-7.
Press the "Save To Disk" icon on the PowerPanel
toolbar.
–or–
Press the power button while the OmniBook is on.
(This is the default, but the power button can be
reconfigured.)
–or–
From the Start menu, click Suspend. (This is the
default, but can be reconfigured.)
From the Start menu, click Shut Down. Unsaved data
will be lost. The computer will reboot when you turn
it back on.
–or–
Note: The power button can be configured to Off. See
page 2-7.
To turn on again...
Press any key or move the
pointer.
Press the power button, which
resumes the session
immediately
Press the power button, which
reboots the computer and
restores the session.
Press the power button, which
reboots the computer and starts
a new session.
