SATA Drive Carrier LEDs

The red power fail LED indicates a power supply module has failed as shown in
second power supply module will take the load and keep the system running but the failed module
will need to be replaced. Refer to
supply. This LED should be off when the system is operating normally.

Power Fail LED
Each SATA drive carrier has two LEDs:
Blue: When illuminated, the blue LED on the SATA drive carrier indicates drive activity. A
connection to the SATA backplane enables this LED to blink on and off when that particular
drive is being accessed.
Red: When illuminated, the red LED indicates a SATA drive failure. If one of the drives
fails, you should be notified by your system management software. When the red LED is
blinking, it indicates that the system is either building, initializing, or rebuilding RAID.
Refer to Chapter 5 for instructions on replacing failed drives.
