Cleaning the Printer
Keeping the printer clean will help ensure
efficient operation and good print quality.
Disconnect the AC power cord before
cleaning the printer.
Cleaning the Outside of the Cabinet
Clean the outside of the cabinet with a soft,
lint–free cloth and mild detergent
(dishwashing liquid works well). Do not use
abrasive powders or chemical solvents.
Clean the window with plain water or a mild
window cleaner.
Always apply the cleaning solution to
the cloth; never pour cleaning solution
directly onto the printer.
Cleaning Inside the Cabinet
Over time, it is normal for dust, particles of
paper, and ink to accumulate inside the
printer. Paper dust and ink build–up must be
removed periodically to avoid degraded print
quality. To clean the interior of the printer,
perform the following steps.
To avoid damage to the printer, be
extremely careful when vacuuming and
dusting around the printhead and
surrounding areas.
Power–off the printer and unplug the
power cord.
