CHAPTER 5: BACKING UP AND RESTORING THE D.20 RIO
Configuration restoration
D.20 RIO - HARDWARE USER'S MANUAL
The Restore procedure should ONLY be performed on the same D.20 RIO firmware release
from which the Backup was created. For example, a backup from a D.20 RIO V1.00
configuration should NOT be restored on a D.20 RIO running V1.10 firmware.
To restore a D.20 RIO configuration:
1.
Connect to the D.20 RIO using the WinSCP tool by providing the D.20 RIO IP address,
admin username and password.
2.
Mount the user configuration directory on the D.20 RIO using the following steps:
2.1.
In the D.20 RIO side (right-side) of WinSCP window, navigate to the /mnt/
directory.
2.2.
Select and right-click the usr directory > select Custom Commands > then
select Enter...
2.3.
Copy the following command, and paste it to the Custom Command dialog box:
sudo mount /mnt/usr
2.4.
If a dialog box appears asking to open separate shell session, select "OK". If
prompted to enter password, enter the password of an admin user.

Copy the configuration archive file from the Windows PC to the D.20 RIO in the /mnt/
usr/ directory by using the following steps:
3.1.
In the D.20 RIO side (right-side) of WinSCP window, navigate to /mnt/usr/
directory.
3.2.
In the local PC (left pane), select the configuration archive file and drag it to the
right pane. The configuration archive file appears in the right pane.
4.
Restore user configuration from the archive file onto the D.20 RIO using the following
steps:
4.1.
In the D.20 RIO side (right-side) of WinSCP window, navigate to /mnt/usr/
directory.
4.2.
Select and right-click the configuration archive file > select Custom
Commands ' then select Enter...
4.3.
Copy the following command, and paste to the Custom Command dialog box:
sudo tar zxf !
Result: The user configuration is restored in the D.20 RIO /mnt/usr/ directory.
5.
Delete the archive file in D.20 RIO in the /mnt/usr/ directory by selecting the file, and
then pressing the Delete key on the keyboard.
6.
Un-mount user configuration directory on the D.20 RIO using the following steps:
6.1.
In the D.20 RIO side (right-side) of WinSCP window, navigate to the /mnt/
directory.
6.2.
Select and right-click the usr directory > select Custom Commands > then
select Enter...
6.3.
Copy the following command, and paste to the Custom Command dialog box:
sudo umount /mnt/usr.
The /mnt/usr/ directory must be unmounted on the D.20 RIO for proper
functioning of D.20 RIO device.
7.
Close the WinSCP application.
8.
Log into the command line interface of the D.20 RIO.
