CHAPTER 2: INSTALLING THE D.20 RIO

SW2: End of link termination

JP1: Power supply to D.20 connectors

D.20 RIO - HARDWARE USER'S MANUAL
This switch controls whether end of link termination (120 Ohm) is enabled on D.20 channels
1 and 2.
Termination is enabled on both channels
Termination is disabled on both channels
Termination is enabled on channel 1 only
Termination is enabled on channel 2 only
The default setting is both positions ON (termination on both channels).
This set of jumpers controls whether power is supplied to peripherals via the D.20 link ports
and if so, which pins are designated as the positive and return. The voltage transmitted
through these ports is the same as the input voltage supplied to the D.20 RIO device.
In the case where two independent power sources supply power to a common peripheral
network, separate pins on the D.20 link must be used for the primary power source and the
secondary power source to avoid any voltage feedback. Failure to do so can negatively
impact system operation or damage the power source equipment.
Power is not supplied through the D.20 link ports
Power is supplied through D.20 link port pins 4
(positive) and 5 (return)
Power is supplied through D.20 link port pins 8
(positive) and 9 (return)
Power is supplied through D.20 link port pins 4, 8
(positive) and 5, 9 (return)
The default setting of JP1 is for jumpers to not be inserted (power is not supplied through
the D.20 link ports).
