Freeing Up Virtual Memory for Applications

CK61 Mobile Computer User's Manual With Windows Mobile
2 Make sure that Avalanche Enabler is selected.
3 Tap Apply. You CK61 clean boots and Avalanche Enabler is
installed.
Each time the Avalanche Enabler is activated (typically on a reset), the
CK61 attempts to connect to the Avalanche Agent. When the CK61
connects to the agent, the agent determines whether an update is
available and immediately starts the software upgrade, file transfer, or
configuration update.
Note: If you manually activate the Avalanche Enabler on the CK61,
you may be prompted for a password when you exit the Avalanche
Enabler. The default password is leave.
To remotely manage the CK61 with Avalanche
1 Install software packages and updates for the CK61 using the
Avalanche Administrative console.
2 Schedule the CK61 updates or manually initiate an update using
the Avalanche Administrative console.

You can use the InstallSelect application to reduce the amount of
virtual memory used by portions of the SmartSystems Platform
Bundle (SSPB). Freeing up virtual memory provides you with more
space to laod and run custom applications. In technical terms, virtual
memory allows software to run in a memory address space whose size
and addressing are not necessarily tied to the physical memory of the
CK61.
InstallSelect manages the installation of value-added software
features of the CK61. Removing software features may result in loss of
CK61 functionality or the ability to manage device settings. See
page 73
or contact your Intermec service representative for
information about each software feature before making changes.
