Adjusting the brake handles
Example: rear wheel brake
Brake handle

Clamping bolts

You can adjust the brake handles to match
the position of the grips. If your fingers,
when extended from the arm, rest on the
brake levers then the brake handles are set
correctly. The wrist should be as straight
as possible when doing so.

Release both clamping bolts ; on brake
handle : using a T25 torx wrench.

Turn brake handle : to a comfortable
position.
X
Tighten both clamping bolts ; alter-
nately to a torque of 3 Nm (2.21 lb-ft).
When brake handles : have been tight-
ened to the specified torque, it should
no longer be possible to turn them.

After riding 30 km (19 miles), retighten
clamping bolts ; to the specified tor-
que of 3 Nm (2.21 lb-ft).
Adjusting the reach of the brake levers

WARNING
If you can pull the brake levers through to
the handlebars, you cannot use the full
braking force when braking hard. The brak-
ing distance is increased as a result. There
is a risk of an accident.
Always adjust the brake lever as described.
Example: front wheel brake

You can adjust the reach of the brake levers
to the size of your hand. Adjust the brake
lever so that you can grip it quickly and
securely, and use plenty of hand strength at
the same time.

Adjust the reach by turning the adjust-
ment screw in brake lever :.
The gap between brake lever : and the
handlebar changes.

Pull brake lever : with maximum hand
strength.
Brake lever : must not touch the han-
dlebar.

Pedals

The pedals on your smart ebike are suitable
for closed shoes with hard soles. Touring
cycling shoes which are equally suitable
for cycling and walking are ideal.
