The default data type (used when you capture data and have not explicitly made a
selection from the Data Type Dialog Box) is Counts.
If you select background corrected counts as your data type - Counts (Bg
Corrected) - you will have to perform Take Background before you perform
Take Signal (see SECTION 4.4 DATA ACQUISITION - Making an Acquisition).
If you select any data type other than Counts or Counts (Bg Corrected) you will have
to perform Take Background and Take Reference (in that order) before
performing Take Signal.
