Launch the Temperature Control Dialog Box by selecting the Temperature option
on the Hardware Menu, or by clicking the Thermometer icon at the bottom of the
Main Window. The Temperature Control Dialog Box allows you to:
Switch the Cooler On or Off by clicking the appropriate check box. The
caption beside the thermometer icon on the Main Window will change
accordingly.
Select a Temperature Setting (provided the Cooler is switched On) by
entering a value (°C) directly into the text box, or by moving the vertical slider
until the required value appears in the text box.
Close the Temperature Dialog Box by clicking the OK button. By default, the
temperature icon is colored red: when the required temperature has been reached
(this may take some minutes), it changes to blue.

Note: Cooling the CCD detector helps you reduce dark signal and its associated shot
noise. Cooling will also effect the iXon CCDs Electron Multiplying Gain. For more
