DATA ACQUISITION
When the above selections have been made, the Convert button at the bottom of the
dialog should be enabled (if not check that the source and destination directories are
valid and that there is at least one file selected in the list of sifs). Pressing the convert
button may bring up another dialog box depending on which conversion type was
chosen. For the image formats (i.e. BMP, JPEG, TIFF), the dialog will prompt you to
select the image format and data range. For the ASCII format the separator to be
used between data values is requested and also whether acquisition information
should be added to the end of the data. The RAW file type dialog requests the
number of bits to be used to store each data value. There is no dialog for the
GRAMS data type. Select the required options, if available, and click the OK button
to begin the conversion.
For .sif files containing a series of images or spectra, the conversion process will
create either a single file containing all the images or a sequence of files for each
image. The ASCII, RAW and GRAMS types result in a single data file, whereas the
BMP, TIFF and JPEG types will create a separate image file for each. In the latter
case the files are distinguished from each other by a postfix '_X' where X is the
number of the image in the original .sif file.
The 'Export As' Dialog Box allows you to store displayed data in a selection of
Export As...
formats, including:-
ASCII (.asc);
BMP (.bmp);
TIFF - Tagged Image File Format (.tif);
Raw Data (.dat).
JPEG (.jpg).
AVI (.avi).
MPEG (.mpeg).
The available export options will vary depending on the Display Mode you are
currently using, and the Readout Mode in which you acquired your data. See also
