Section 1 Basic Use of this Fax

Preparations

When using the fax functions of this machine for the first time after purchase,
perform the procedures as explained in "(1) Attaching the Included Seals" through
"(4) Registering Your Self-Station Information".

(1) Attaching the Included Seals

The operation panel is marked with symbols rather than specific
terms to indicate the function of each key and indicator. The given
name in each language for each of these symbols is printed on the
key-indicator seals that are included with the fax. The explanations in
this Instruction Handbook will use the names printed on those seals
when referring to each key and indicator on the operation panel.
In addition, since it is possible to use letters which are specific to
each particular language as well as other characters for registering
destination names, special characters seals are included as well to
indicate the special letters and other characters available for each
language.
• The key-indicator seals indicate the given name in each language
for each of the symbols shown on the operation panel and should
be attached to a location on the fax that makes it easy for the user
to refer to. (The suggested location is on the DF as shown in the
illustration.)
• The special characters seals for each language are on the same
sheet as the key-indicator seals and the seal that corresponds to
the language in use in the message display should be attached to
the top of the upper cover plate, directly under one-touch key No.
