Adding Global and Personal Contacts

FaxFinder has two contact types:

Global, which are available to any user in FaxFinder. By default, only the administrator can add global
contacts. To change this, refer to

Personal, which are associated with a specific user account.
To view contact lists:
●
Click Contacts. FaxFinder displays the personal contact list for the current user.
●
Click Contacts |Global to view the contacts available to all users.

Allowing Users to Add Global Contacts

By default, only the administrator can add global contacts. If you want to allow any user to add contacts to the
Global Address book:
1. Click Users | User Options.
2. Check Users can add to the global address books and click Save.

Importing Global or Personal Contacts

These steps apply to importing contacts through the Contacts page. If you are importing contacts through the
User page, refer to Example of Contact Only Records (User page)
Contact CSV Import Format
Global and Personal Contacts have the same CSV format.

Your file must conform to the order and format
●
If any of your data has apostrophes, commas, or quote marks, enclose the data in double quotes.
●
Header rows are optional. CSV files created through the Export function include header information in the
first row.
