    BASIC FAXFINDER CONFIGURATION Chapter 1 – Basic FaxFinder Configuration FaxFinder Hybrid Mode FaxFinder enables users to operate in a hybrid mode with the option to add IP capability or analog modems to the base FaxFinder unit. Upgrading FF240-IP for Analog Capability to add analog capability to the device.

Network Configuration Fields FaxFinder's factory default IP address is 192.168.2.1 and 24 bit network mask is 255.255.255.0. Field Description Hostname Required. Enter an alphanumeric hostname to associate with this FaxFinder. Hostnames can contain periods (.) and dashes (-).

    BASIC FAXFINDER CONFIGURATION Updating the Admin Account By default, FaxFinder includes an admin user account. Update the factory-default settings with a secure password and an email address. Click Users. Click Edit in the administrator's Action column. Enter an email address for the administrator account. Change the password from the default to something secure.

Send a fax to a remote fax machine that your SIP device can access. Configure your SIP device dial plan to properly route incoming fax calls to the FaxFinder.

Anyone with network rights to the shared folder can view the faxes sent there. Creating a shared location can help ensure that faxes are responded to in a timely manner and provides a location for archiving faxes.

Default is 3. Fax Priority Select a default Fax Priority for this user account. When multiple faxes are scheduled for the same time, FaxFinder sends those with a high priority before those with a low priority.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Use the POTS phone to dial one of the FaxFinder phone numbers. As the call completes, listen for fax tones and look for the Waiting for Connect message in Status & Logs > Fax Status. Sometimes it is possible to see activity in the LED indicators, but the flash is often too brief to notice. Listening for the fax tones is the best method for troubleshooting.
