5 1/4-Inch Accessible Device

The system has two 5 1/4-inch accessible device bays (1.6-inch high, half height), with one
containing the standard CD-ROM drive or other built-to-order drive (see the following figure).
A – 3 1/2-Inch Internal Bays
B – 3 1/2-Inch Accessible Bays
Depending on system configuration, the accessible device bays might contain a CD-ROM drive,
DVD-ROM drive, CD-RW drive, Zip drive, or other storage device.

Removing a 5 1/4-Inch Accessible Device

Remove a 5 1/4-inch accessible device as follows.
Remove the system cover and front panel (see "Removing the Cover" and "Removing the

Front Panel").
Tag and unplug the signal and power cables from the back of the device.

Press in on the tab on each side of the device and pull the device out of the bay.
