Employer Responsibilities
Because ozone can be an irritant, various regulatory
agencies have established limits to the amount of ozone
to which employees may be exposed. The workplace
specifications are:
•
A person may not be exposed to an average
concentration of greater than 0.1 part per million
(PPM) of ozone for a period of eight hours.
•
In addition, the employee should not be exposed to
peak concentrations of ozone greater than 0.3 PPM
for longer than 15 minutes.
The employer is responsible for providing a work
environment that meets these standards.
