Replacing the PS/2 power supply
The PS/2 power supply does not support fault tolerance or hot-swapping. If
the power supply fails, you must replace it.
To replace the PS/2 power supply:
1
Turn off the system and disconnect the power cord and all peripherals.
2
Open the case. (See "Opening the case" on page 23 and "Preventing static
electricity discharge" on page 22.)
3
Disconnect the power supply connectors from all internal devices,
including the 3.5-inch diskette drive, the CD drive, and all hard drives.
4
Disconnect the main power supply connector to the system board, by
pressing on the tab to release the connector, then gently pull the
connector from the board.
5
While supporting the power supply with one hand, remove the screws
securing the power supply to the back panel and the top panel.
