Stopping the vehic le
In automatic or m anual mode, once the
vehic le is stationary first gear enga ges
automatically and the clutch opens. In R,
rev erse remains engaged.
When stop ping on gradients engag e
handbrake or depress brake peda l. To
prevent overheating of the clutch, an
intermittent, audible warning may sound
as a signal to depress the foot brake or
apply the handbrak e.
Switch off eng ine if stop ping for a lengthy
period, e. g. in traffic jams.

Parking

Before leaving the vehicle:
z eng age handbra ke,
z rem ove ignition key.
The most recently engaged gear (ind icator
in transmission display) remains engaged.
With N , no gea r is engaged.
When the ignition is switched off Tecshift
no longer responds to movem ents of the
selector lever.
If the ignition is not switched off, or the
ha ndb ra ke has not been ap plied, an
intermittent audible warning may sound
up on opening the driver's door.

Rocking the vehicle

If it becomes necessary to rock the vehicle
to free it from sand, mud, snow or a hole,
move the selector lever between R and A
(or + or -) in a rep eat pattern w hile app ly ing
lig ht p ressure to the accelerator pedal. Do
not rac e the engine and avoid sudden
acceleration.
This applies only in ex ceptional
circum stances mentioned a bove.
Tecshift
Man oeu vrin g the vehicle
To ma noeuv re the vehicle back and forth
during attempts to park or in ga ra ge
entrances, the creeping m ov ement can be
utilized by releasing the foot brak e.
N ever actuate the accelerator and brake
pedals sim ultaneously.
In order to protect Tecshift at extremely
high clutch tem peratures, an intermittent
audible warning may sound. In such cases
depress the foot brake, select "N " and
app ly the handbrak e allowing the clutch to
cool down.
