Catalytic converter for diesel
engines
Damag e to the catalytic converter or the
vehic le ma y result if the following points
are not ob served:
z Consult a w ork shop, w e recommend
your Vauxhall Authorised Repairer, a s
quick ly as possible in the event of
irregular engine running, a significant
loss of engine power or other unusual
malfunctions. If necessary , driving m ay
be c ontinued for a short time at a low
speed and with a low engine speed.
Controlling exhaust em ission
Through design-related mea sures - mainly
in the area of the m ix ture formation
sy stem - the proportion of noxious
materials in the exhaust, suc h as carbon
monox ide (C O), hy drocarbons (C H) and
nitrogen oxides (NO ), is reduced to a
x
minim um .
Catalytic con verter, exhaust em issions
C ont rol indic ator Z for exha ust
Lights up when the ig nition is switched on
and d uring the start attempt. Goes off
shortly after the engine starts running.
If it lights while the engine is running there
is a fault in the emission control sy stem.
The permitted em ission values may be
exceeded. C onsult a workshop
imm ediately. We recomm end y our
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
