Genera l informa tion
Note that the da nger of aquaplaning is
greater if the tyres are worn.
Tyres a ge, even if they are used only very
little or not at a ll. A spare wheel 3 which
has not been used for six years should be
used only in emergencies; driv e slowly
when using such ty res.
Never fit used tyres the prev ious history
and use of w hich y ou do not know.
Tyre designat ions
Meanings:
e.g. 195/65 R 16 C
195 = Ty re wid th in m m
65 = Aspect ratio in %
(ty re heig ht to ty re w id th in %)
R = Belt typ e: R adial
16 = Rim diameter in inches
C = Cargo or comm ercial use

M+S ty res improve safety and should
therefore be fitted on all wheels.
The design of summer tyres means they
ha ve lim ited qualities for winter driving.
If the m aximum p ermissible speed for the
winter tyres is less than that of the vehicle,
a notic e indicating the maxim um
permissib le speed for the tyres must be
affix ed within the driver's field of v ision 3

If y ou use the spare wheel when it is fitted
with a summer tyre: the vehicle's
driveability ma y be affected , especially on
slippery road surfaces. O btain a
replacem ent for the faulty ty re as soon as
possible, and ha ve the wheel balanced
and fitted to the v ehicle.
