100 Fuel c onsum ption, fuel, refuelling
Fuel fo r diesel en gines
Diesel engines must be operated only on
commercially ava ila ble diesel fuel meeting
the specific ations of DIN EN 590. Do not
use ma rine diesel oils, heating oils or
entirely or partially plant-b ased diesel
fuels, such as rape seed oil or b io diesel,
Aquazole and sim ilar diesel-w ater
emulsions.
The flow a nd filterability of diesel fuel are
tem perature-d epend ent.
Diesel fuels with improved low-
tem perature properties are therefore
ava ilab le on the market during the winter
months. Make sure that you fill the tank
with winter fuel before the start of the cold
weather season.
Additives can be used with d iesel fuels with
winter p roperties that are guaranteed by
the m anufacturer and when using diesel
fuel filters that are heated depending on
the outside temperature.
Do not mix diesel fuel with fuel for petrol
engines.

Before refuelling, switch off the engine
and a ny ex ternal heaters with
combustion cha mbers (identified by a
sticker on the tank flap). S witch off
mobile phones.
Fuel is flammab le and explosive.
Therefore, av oid naked flames and
sparks when handling or in the v ic inity of
fuel. Do not smoke! This also applies in
places where fuel can only b e detec ted
by its characteristic sm ell. If y ou can smell
fuel in the vehicle, have the ca use thereof
rem edied imm ediately. We recomm end
that you consult your Vauxhall
Authorised Repairer.
The fuel tank filler neck with bay onet c ap is
located on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
The fuel filler flap is loc ked 3 together with
the doors - see pa ge 41.
To unlock filler ca p 3: insert key and turn
anti-clockwise.
The fuel tank has a limiting system which
prevents overfilling of the ta nk .
