Front passeng er airbag deactiv ation 3
Front and side airbag sy stems must b e
deactivated if a child restraint sy stem is to
be mounted on the front pa ssenger seat.
The b elt tensioners as well as a ll airbag
systems for the driv er's seat remain active
when the front p assenger seat's systems
are disengaged.
The switch for deactivating or activating
the a irb ag system is located on the front
passenger door.
The chosen setting remains ac tiv e after the
ignition has been switched off. The control
indicator H for front p assenger airbag
deactivation is loc ated in the instrument
panel.
To dea ctiv ate
With the front passenger door op en, press
switch in and rotate anti-clockwise to
"OFF" position.
The a irb ag system s for the front passenger
seat are now dea ctiv ated.
Safety systems
With the ignition switched on the c ontrol
indicator H will remain illuminated to
indicate dea ctivation. It is now safe to
place a child seat on the front passenger
seat.
