Towing the vehicle

Screw the tow ing eye (stow ed in the tool kit
- see page 130) fully into the front towing
point.
Attach the tow rope 3 - or better still, a tow
rod 3 - to the towing eye, nev er to the
bumper or front susp ension units.

Warning
Nev er lift the vehicle using the tow ing
eye!
Place the gear shift lever in the neutral
position (Tec shift 3 in N ). Switch on the
ignition to release the steering column lock
and to permit the operation of the brak e
lights, horn and windscreen wiper.
Driv e off slowly and a void jerky
movem ents. Impermissible tractive forces
could damage the vehicles.

Warning
More brake ped al pressure is necessary
when braking since the brake serv o unit is
opera tiv e only when the engine is
running.
C onsiderably grea ter steering force is
necessary since this unit is operative only
when the engine is running.
To prev ent the entry of exhaust fumes from
the towing vehic le, switch on the air
circulation system and close the wind ow s.
Consult a work shop. We recom mend y our
Vauxhall Authorised Repairer, w ho w ill
serve you best to get your vehicle ba ck on
the road.

Entrust y our v ehicle only to the towing
service of your choice and obta in a n
estimate on towing costs b efore emp loy ing
any towing service. This will prev ent
unnec essary ex pense a nd possible
insurance problems during claim
proc essing.
Self-help
Towing ano ther vehicle
Attach tow rope 3 - or better still a tow
rod 3 - to the rear tow ing eye, never to the
rear axle and suspension units.
