RECORDS STANDARDS

What paperwork must be completed?
• TCUV Inspection Check Sheet with all required signatures.
– If a TCUV vehicle sale is reversed after the buyer leaves the
dealership, a new TCUV Inspection Check Sheet must be
completed in order to again sell the vehicle as TCUV.
• Repair Orders showing all work performed to bring vehicle to
TCUV standards.
• Vehicle History Report (VHR).
• Certification Request Form or completed certification screen

What paperwork must be retained?
• TCUV Inspection Check Sheet.
• Techstream Health Check diagnostic report.
• Repair Orders.
• Carfax
VHR. A hard copy of each Carfax

in the deal jacket. Not only is it a valuable sales tool at the time of
purchase, but validates the vehicle's history prior to delivery in the
event of litigation after purchase.
• Certification Request Form or completed certification screen

How long must the paperwork be retained?
• All records must be retained for at least two years after the
certified vehicle's retail sale date.
• See paragraph 5B of the Dealer Participation Agreement for
complete details.
What is the policy regarding records availability for inspection?
• Dealer shall provide access to, and the opportunity to copy as
TMS deems necessary, original service records such as repair
orders, inspection check sheets, vehicle history reports, Certification
Request Forms, and all other dealer books and records relating to
the TCUV Program, to TMS upon request.
How can records standards affect the vehicle's
TCUV certification?
• Failure to meet all records completion and retention standards
can result in the vehicle's certification being voided.
