Comments
When assessing if an aftermarket item is acceptable, use the
following criteria:
1. Is the item of good quality; similar to OEM?
2. Was it installed properly?
3. Does it operate properly?
4. Does it add value to the vehicle; an item that customers
would expect and readily accept?
– Camper shells, roll/light bar, running boards, brush guards
and rear bumpers on truck-type vehicles are of good quality
and in good working condition.
– Any good-quality, frame-mounted hitch with tags stating
class and weight rate are acceptable on pickups, 4Runner,
Land Cruiser and Sienna only.
– Aftermarket alarm systems that include a remote are fully
operational and of OEM quality.
– Aftermarket sound systems that are fully operational and
of OEM quality.
Radar detectors (permanently installed) that are of good quality
and allowed by your state/local laws.
There should be no evidence that equipment has been removed
(e.g., interior holes from cellular phones or body holes from roll
bar removal).
If item is lockable, ensure that the release key is present.
Any non-Toyota accessories are specifically excluded from
coverage under the TCUV Limited Warranty. Customers should
be made aware, at the time of sale, of any non-Toyota accessory
items installed on their vehicle that will not be covered by the
TCUV Limited Warranty.
