Comments
Dents are intrusions with a diameter greater than that of a quarter
(25¢ coin). All dents must be repaired. Vehicle with a dent in zone
"A" at time of inspection by Toyota will result in vehicle receiving
a grade of "automatic fail."
• Zone A refers to the most visible portion of the vehicle,
including the hood, roof, deck lid, top and upper portions
of fenders, quarter panels and doors; all areas above top
of door handles.
• Zone B refers to lower portion of vehicle below top of door
handles, including the entire pickup tailgate and bumpers.
All exterior scratches must be repaired by traditional body shop
methods or touch-up procedures, or removed by buffing.
Minor chips in the front portion of the hood and body sides
are acceptable, providing the rust/corrosion barrier has not
been broken.
Excessive number of chips in one area must be repaired.
Over-spray on paint surfaces, moldings, tires and wheels must
be removed.
Many types of rock damage can be repaired.
Repairs with dust or dirt in the paint are not acceptable (typical
result of improper outdoor painting procedures).
Minor dings and dents in metal bumpers on trucks are acceptable,
only if generally acceptable to customers.
