Answering and Placing Calls

Emergency Calls

To make an emergency call:

Call Waiting

If you receive a call while you are already on another call, you will hear a "call waiting" tone
and/or you will see a display.
To respond to a waiting call:

Placing Calls on Hold

You can place calls on hold in one of two ways: individual or system.
To place a call on Individual Hold:

Muting the Microphone

To mute the microphone so that you can hear the other party, but they cannot hear you
(this does not put them on hold):

Individual Hold places the call on hold at one endpoint. It can then be directly picked up at
that endpoint or it can be picked up at another endpoint using the Call Pickup (Reverse
Transfer) feature (see

System Hold places the call on hold in the system. You can then pick up the call at any
endpoint that has a flashing button for the call, including the endpoint that placed it on
hold.
NOTE
You cannot place internal calls on system hold.
