    Getting Started Welcome The instructions in this guide are for using the Mitel 8528 Telephone on the Mitel 5000 Communications Platform (CP). The Quick Reference Guide located at the beginning of this guide is an overview of frequently used features.

    Outgoing Software Updates When the telephone is plugged in for the first time or after a system upgrade, it may update its firmware. The upgrade process can take up to 13 minutes. During the upgrade, all lamps flash on and off, and the display shows that an upgrade is in process. Do not unplug the telephone during the upgrade.
