The example below may help you determine where
the numbers can be found and in which column they
belong.
A. Examples for channels not requiring the cable
box:
• If the published VCR Plus+ guide channel number
for ABC is 04 and you tune your -IV to channel 05
to watch ABC, you would enter number 05 in the
CA-I-V CH column next to 04 in the GUIDE CH
column as shown.
• If CBS' published guide channel is 05 and you
watch CBS on channel 07, you would enter 07 in
the CATV CH column next to 05 in the GUIDE CH
column as shown.

B. Example for channels requiring the cable box:
• If HBO's (Home Box Office) published VCR Plus+
guide number is 33, you would enter the output
channel of your cable box (for example 03) in the
CATV CH column next to 33 in the GUIDE CH
column as shown.

After
you
have determined
which
channel
numbers need to be entered, repeatedly press
the CHANNEL up or down button to position the
first guide channel number on the line marked
with an arrow. Then press two number buttons
to enter the correct channel number (or output
channel of your cable box) for that VCR Plus+
guide channel number. Follow this procedure to
enter all necessary channel numbers.
NOTE: If you enter an incorrect number press
RESET to erase the incorrect
number, press
CLEAR and then re-enter the correct number.
After you have entered the necessary channel
numbers, press the VCR Plus+ button to store
the channels in memory. You can now use VCR
Plus+ to record as described on pages 42 and
43.
IMPORTANT:
If you want to record a channel that
requires the use of a cable box, remember to leave
the cable box turned on and tuned to the channel
you want to record whenever a recording is to occur.
Also
remember
to put the A-B switch
in the B
position for recording from the cable box.
NOTES:
• Power
interruptions
will not affect the guide
channels
you
entered.
They
will
remain
in
memory.
• If your cable company changes its channel line-
up, moves channels to different numbers, or adds
new channels,
be sure to re-enter the channel
numbers for the VCR Plus+ guide channels that
changed.
