A Task roadmap

Use the following appendix to identify the tasks that can be performed and whether they are
performed from the GUI, CLI or both.
Blackout windows
All tasks associated with configuring blackout windows for replication or housekeeping are carried
out only from the GUI. See the relevant chapters in this guide.
Date and time
All tasks associated with configuring the date and time are carried out only from the CLI. See the
HP B6000 CLI Reference Guide.
Email
All tasks associated with configuring the date and time are carried out only from the GUI. See
Email (page 101)
Events
See "Logs".
Fibre Channel
A FC connection is required if you are using VTL devices on your HP B6200 Backup System. All
tasks associated with configuring and monitoring FC ports are carried out only from the GUI. See
VTL (Virtual Tape Libraries) (page
16).
Hardware
All tasks associated with hardware and system configuration, power on/off, failover, and such
like, are carried out only from the CLI. Hardware status details and a Hardware Report can be
viewed from the GUI.
Housekeeping
All tasks associated with configuring housekeeping and viewing blackout windows and statistics
are carried out only from the GUI. See

85).
Licensing
All tasks associated with licensing are carried out only from the CLI.
Logs
An Events log is available on the GUI. This contains events, warnings, cautions, and so on. The
CLI can also be used to generate logs.
NAS
All tasks associated with configuring, maintaining and viewing NAS shares are carried out only
from the GUI. See
NAS Configuration page (page
30).
Network
All network configuration and monitoring is carried out only from the CLI. See the HP B6000 CLI
Reference Guide.
