USING THE PRINT MODE AND SCANNER FUNCTION

General operation steps for using the scanner

When using this machine as a scanner, two methods
are available: scanning in the remote scan mode and
executing Scan job from the printer functions screen.
For detailed instructions on using the machine as a
scanner, refer to the operation manual supplied with
the Print Controller.
q To scan, process or edit document images by using
the scanning feature of the machine, Adobe
®
Photoshop 5.0 or later is needed.

NOTE:
When the auditing mode is turned on for the scanner
function, if you select the remote scan mode or select
Scan job from the printer functions screen, you must
enter your account number.
The method of entry of the account number is the
same as that for the copier function. See page 2-2.

Install the required driver software in your computer in

accordance with the operation manual for the Print
Controller.
Press the PRINT key and press the "ONLINE/OFFLINE"

key on the touch panel to switch the printer to the off-
line mode. Then, press the "fiery" key on the touch
panel.
When scanning in the remote scan mode:

Press the "REMOTE SCAN MODE" key on the touch panel.
When executing Scan job from the printer functions
screen:
q Press the "CONTROLLER SCREEN" key on the touch panel,
and then press the

q Press the key on the right of "Scan job."
Place the original on the document glass or in the

document feeder (optional).
Acquire the image using the application software. For

the details, refer to the operation manual supplied with
the application software.
Edit or store the scanned image. Refer to the instructions

supplied with the application software for details.
