Locking the white balance

Perform steps 1 and 2 of "Selecting
OUTDOOR/INDOOR White Balance
mode".

Aim the lens at a white object.
• Adjust the distance of the object so that
the entire screen is white.

Press the W/B button to set the white
balance lock.
• "LOCK" flashes during the locking
procedure.
• To cancel the locking procedure, press
the W/B button again.

Note: If you move the camcorder while
"LOCK" is flashing, "LOCK" may not stop
flashing. If this occurs, press the W/B button
to cancel the locking procedure, and then
repeat step 3.

Set the Manual Selection switch to
MANUAL LOCK to fix the white balance
lock setting.
• The camera recording screen is
displayed.
Notes:
• If the light source changes or if you move from
indoors to outdoors, or vice versa, when
recording with the white balance locked, the
white balance may shift. Reset the white balance
lock.
• You can also set the white balance lock by
touching [LOCK] on the WHITE BAL. selection
screen after performing step 3 of "Selecting
OUTDOOR/INDOOR White Balance mode".
Manually adjusting the white balance

Perform steps 1 to 3 of "Selecting
OUTDOOR/INDOOR White Balance
mode".

Touch [MANUAL] to display the WHITE
BAL. adjustment screen.

Touch [B] (Blue) or [R] (Red) to adjust
the colour of the on-screen picture.

Set the Manual Selection switch to
MANUAL LOCK to lock the adjusted
white balance setting.
• The camera recording screen is
displayed.
To return to Auto White Balance mode
Touch [AUTO] in step 4 of "Selecting OUT-
DOOR/INDOOR White Balance mode".
Notes:
• In order to check the manual setting state after
setting the Manual Selection switch to MANUAL
LOCK to lock the setting, reset the Manual
Selection switch to MANUAL.
• The camcorder will return to Auto White
Balance mode if a scene setting is selected
and then cancelled afterward.
• Manual White Balance cannot be used with
Night Recording.
• See page 68 to cancel all the manual settings
selected on the MANUAL screen.
