Using the Viewfinder
You can record the subject through the
electronic LCD colour viewfinder. You can also
watch video playback through the viewfinder.

Pull out the viewfinder completely.
• You can raise the viewfinder up to 70° to
better aim the camcorder depending on
your position.

Caution: Do not try to raise the viewfinder
until it is completely pulled out.

Hold down the Lock
button and set the
POWER switch to
CAMERA or VCR.
• A picture is displayed
in the viewfinder.
Closing the viewfinder
Lower the viewfinder (1), and push it in
completely (2).

Cautions:
• Do not use excessive force when moving the
viewfinder.
• Do not pick up the camcorder by the viewfinder.
Notes:
• The viewfinder automatically turns off when the
LCD monitor is opened. If the vertical rotation of
the monitor is between 135° and 180° when in
one of the CAMERA modes, however, the
viewfinder is on and the subject is displayed
both in the viewfinder and on the monitor (see
page 46).
• It is possible to operate the playback functions in
TAPE-VCR and CARD-VCR modes and adjust
the settings on the MANUAL screen through the
viewfinder by using the CONTROL dial. (See
page 29 for the operation of the CONTROL dial.)
• Be sure to close the viewfinder after use.
Adjusting the Dioptre
Adjust the dioptre according to your eyesight
when the picture in the viewfinder is not clear.

Pull out the viewfinder completely, and
then lift it up.

Hold down the Lock button and set the
POWER switch to CAMERA.

While looking through the viewfinder,
turn the Dioptre adjustment dial until the
indicators in the viewfinder are clearly
visible.
