Problems during Printing

The following helps you solve problems encountered during printing.
Symptoms
Unable to print.
Unable to print
using the manual
feed tray
(Bypass).
Paper media is
often jammed or
wrinkled.
The prints are
too light.
Check
Is the circuit breaker or the
power switch of the machine
off?
Is the print mode [Offline]?
Is the network cable of the
machine disconnected?
Does any error occur on the
machine?
Is the network path of the IP
address correctly set?
Is an interrupt operation
performing?
Is the specified media size
paper loaded correctly?
Is the correct type of paper
media used?
Is the paper media loaded
correctly?
Is the media tray set
correctly?
Is the paper media damp?
Are the media loaded and
media settings correct?
Are there any torn pieces of
paper still remaining inside
the machine or is there a
foreign object in the
machine?
Is the message for load
toner displayed?
Is the toner density
appropriate?

Problems during Printing

Remedy
Turn on the circuit breaker (main power
switch) and the power switch.
Refer to "Power On / Off" (P.25).
Press the <Machine Status> button, and
confirm [Print mode] in the [Machine
Status] screen. If [Print Mode] is [Offline],
select [Online] in the [Print Mode] screen.
Connect the network cable of the machine.
Check the error message, and follow the
instructions to solve the problem.
Set the network path of the IP address
correctly.
Cancel the interrupt operation.
Load the correct size paper media in
accordance with the message appears and
print again.
Refer to "Using the Manual Feed Tray
(Bypass)" (P.36).
Load a correct type of paper media.
Refer to "Media Type" (P.32).
Load the paper media correctly.
Refer to "Loading Media" (P.34).
Firmly push in the media tray until it stops
to set it correctly.
Refer to "Loading Media" (P.34).
Replace with paper media from a new
ream.
Refer to "Loading Media" (P.34).
Correctly select the media size series and
media type to match with the media
loaded.
Refer to "Media Settings" (P.39).
Open the door of the machine or slide out
the media try to remove the torn paper or
the foreign object.
Refer to "Paper Jams" (P.176), "Loading
Media" (P.34).
Load toner.
Refer to "Loading Toner" (P.154).
Adjust the toner density.
Refer to "Toner Density" (P.128).
