Extended fabric settings for Fibre Channel

Fiber optic transceivers

Fibre Channel switches use one of the following types of fiber optic transceivers. The transceivers can
be short wave or long wave. Use long-wave transceivers for SAN extension.
The 8 Gb/s, 4 Gb/s and 2 Gb/s transceivers are known as SFPs and use LC style connectors
(Figure
77).
