Aligning the Print Head

If you notice a misalignment of vertical lines, you may be able
to solve the problem from your computer using the Print Head
Alignment utility. Also you can align the print head using the
control panel buttons if you are not able to use the utility (see
page 6-5 for details).
c
Caution:
Before aligning the print head, load paper that is at least 210
mm (8.27 inches) wide; for example, A4 size paper loaded short
edge first. Otherwise, the print head will spray ink directly
onto the platen, which could mar future printouts.
For Windows users:
1. Make sure A4 or wider paper is loaded in the paper tray.
2. Click the Utility tab in the printer software window. Then
click the Print Head Alignment button.
3. Follow the messages on your screen to align the print head.
For Macintosh users:
1. Make sure A4 or wider paper is loaded in the paper tray.
2. Choose Utility from the Print dialog box. Then click the Print
Head Alignment button.
3. Follow the messages on your screen to align the print head.
