You are not printing on the
correct side of the paper.
The printer driver settings
are not correct.
The High Speed setting is
selected in the printer driver.
For Windows 95 or NT 4.0.
The printer driver failed to
obtain the Printer ID from
the printer automatically.
Colors are different than you expect.
Cause
The print head nozzles are
clogged.
Black ink is selected in your
printer driver.
The printable side of the
paper is not correctly loaded.

Troubleshooting
Check the paper packaging for the
correct side for printing; then make
sure the printable side is loaded
correctly.
Check the printer driver settings to
make sure they are appropriate. If
these settings are correct, check your
application because some settings are
overridden by application settings.
Also, for more information on making
printer driver settings, see online help
for Windows, or Chapter 4 for
Macintosh.
To obtain higher quality output, make
sure High Speed is not selected.
Open the Printer and Option
Information dialog box from the
Utility menu and input the printer ID
manually.
What to do
Clean the print head. See "Cleaning
the Print Head" on page 8-37.
Set the Ink setting to Color.
Check the paper packaging for the
correct side for printing; then make
sure the printable side is loaded
correctly.
