Operation

The
Operate light is on but nothing prints.
Cause
The interface cable is not
connected properly.
Your interface cable does not
meet both the printer and
computer specifications.
Your software is not properly
set up for your printer.
Nothing prints and the control panel lights are on or flashing.
Cause
Several common printer
errors have occurred at once.
What to do
Confirm that the cable is fastened to
the printer and the computer securely.
If the cable is connected correctly, run
a printer operation check as described
on page 8-7.
If your Macintosh has a built-in
modem, connect the interface cable to
the Macintosh's printer port.
Use an interface cable that meets both
printer and computer specifications.
See "Connecting the Printer to Your
PC" or "Connecting the Printer to
Your Macintosh" in your Setup Guide.
Also see "Interface Specifications" in
Appendix A.
Make sure that your printer is
properly selected in your software.
Install or reinstall the printer software
as described in your Setup Guide.
What to do
Use the table in "Error indicators"
on page 8-2 to determine what
combination of errors may have
occurred, and apply the recommended
solutions.
