TIP
Break your large cluster of systems into smaller clusters to isolate the
problem. For example:
If you have an 8-pipe system, comment out four of the names.
If you have a 16-pipe system, use the comment character (#) to ignore
eight of the hostnames in /etc/X11/X0screens.
Symptom: One of the setpipes -test rectangles is red.
One section of the screen is red:
The Compositor is not receiving a signal for that pipe.
Check output from that 3D pipe by attaching monitor directly
to output channel for that pipe.
If output from pipe is correct make sure cables and input cards
are plugged in properly.
The entire screen is red:
Check the outputs from 3D pipes. If they are working, check
the Compositor cables and cards.
• Symptom: One of the setpipes -test rectangles has a
checkerboard effect.
This happens if you've used the setpipes tool to choose an x or y
offset that doesn't fill the entire screen space.
Run /opt/graphics/common/bin/setpipes -grid
back to a standard pipe rectangle layout.
• Symptom: setpipes -test rectangles look like they're out of order
or image sections do not line up correctly.
Verify that the 3D slave machines are plugged into the Compositor
correctly.
Make sure the labels on the cables match the labels on the
Compositor.
Add the screen option
/etc/X11/X0screens.
Remove this option when you're finished troubleshooting.
