Manually configure LAN0 (the 10/100 BaseT network) by running
/sbin/setparms initial on the master node.
Login to each system one at a time.
Edit the /etc/hosts and etc/rc.config.d/netconf file.
Add in the new hostnames and IP addresses you wish to use. A
block of contiguous IP addresses is recommended for ease of
use.
See the File Configuration section of the sv6
Installation/User's Guide for syntax and file contents.
NOTE: If the hostnames in /etc/hosts are changed, the
hostnames and IPs must also be changed on LAN1 in
/etc/rc.config.d/netconf.
NOTE: Do not change the IP_ADDRESS[1]="192.168.1.x"
entry in /etc/rc.config.d/netconf. This is the static IP
address for the Gigabit Ethernet Card in the switchbox.
• Verify that 10/100 Base-T hostnames and IP addresses are registered
at your site.
Verify that the same IP address is NOT being used by another
machine.
Watch the digital displays on the front of the Workstations to
verify that:
the system shows you have firmware 4.8 or later,
the little heart 'beats',
the display has green backlight.
• If you get network FAIL errors during boot time, check with the
system administrator to verify that all network configurations are
correct.
For NIS or NFS failures see the "Networking Attachment
Problems" section of this document.
Get to a prompt and run set_parms addl_netwrk
Verify that all of the settings are correct for your site:

IP
