Chapter 1
If yes, the J6000 is powered up and may already be booted.
From the master system in init 3, standalone Workstation
mode, use the following Digi EtherLite command to open a
connection to one of the slave systems via the RS232 port
/usr/local/bin/dinc /dev/digi/<slave_gigbit_hostname>
The Workstation may be set to output to a console instead of
one of the graphics cards or:
— press Enter to get a prompt in the terminal window.
Watch for "FAIL" messages during the boot process.
• If any hardware components inside the Workstation were recently
added or replaced:
Reseat cards.
Check RAM (reseat, correct pairing and slot orientation if
additional RAM was added).
Pull up PCI cage then reseat.
Make sure stray wires or any other objects are not sticking into
fans.
Firmly slide cover back onto the Workstation.
Tighten thumb screws completely on the front of the J6000.
• Repeat sliding cover off then on again. All contacts on the case must
be touching the contact points on the machine for power to go on.
• If you don't have a green light on the Workstation's LAN cable, see
the "Network Attachment Problems" section.
• Refer to HP J6000 documentation for further assistance.
A hard copy was included as part of your system.
• Report this to HP Support as a J6000 hardware problem.
If you see any LEDs through the back of the Workstation case,
you're getting power. Be sure to mention this to HP Support.
